To improve technical skills and fitness; to promote teamwork; to have fun!
GUILDFORD GRIZZLIES have 4 age groups from U11/U12 up to U18 that eventually lead into the Guildford GAZELLES Ladies team, a powerhouse of experience and one of the most prolific and successful teams in the southern region: Winners of 4 Surrey Cup Championships in the past decade; League winners in 2017 and top 2 in the League in the past 4 years; Surrey Cup winners 2017 and twice National Cup semi-finalists.
Our girls come to play from across Surrey and West Sussex, many of whom are already playing at their schools.
For new players, we operate a BUDDY system to help them settle into the Club and their new squad.
The GRIZZLIES train on Sunday mornings with a highly experienced coaching team headed by Harlequins and England player, and 2021 Allianz Premiership winner, Lucy Packer.
We have regular friendlies and joint training sessions with other clubs, as well as playing in festivals, starting with no contact in Ready for Rugby festivals and moving to contact with the Waterfall Cup, Surrey and UR 7’s tournaments and Surrey Cup matches.
We help all girls learn the game and build their confidence, whatever their standard of play, in a fun and safe environment. As well as the Sunday sessions, we also offer Wednesday night training and social events, like barbecues and fun days at the Club.
The GRIZZLIES ethos is to promote enjoyment of rugby to all players, whatever their ability, seeking to improve their technical skills and performance at every level, from friendlies to Surrey development squad.
Come join us!
First session is the first Sunday in September and we run throughout the season until the end of April.
